Travelling And Arriving In The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club uses different modes of transport to represent different characters. Examples are below:

The Athlete
This character is driven in a truck and the truck suggests
masculinity which fits perfectly with his athletic stereotype. Aside from the truck, his clothing also suggests that he is an athletic person.

The Princess
She is driven in a luxury BMW. Not only does this suggest she's rich but it also implies she may be popular. Due to her parents spoiling her, she has an attitude where she feels as if she should be respected by everyone, which is why she is considered the princess.

The Brain
He is driven in a cheaper family vehicle with his sibling in the car. This suggests that it is a family vehicle and his family is close. His license plate is EMC2 which is a scientific equation, which just proves he is the brain.

The Basketcase
This girl is taken in an ordinary car but unlike the others she doesn't receive a good bye message, she just exits and the parents drive off. This mirrors how lonely she is and could be due to the fact that people consider her as 'weird'.

The Criminal
He is walking, whereas the other characters were driven. This raises suspicion as to not only why his parents aren't dropping him off but why he's alone. This sense of suspicion and unanswered questions is just part of the reason as to why he is the shady criminal character, walking without awareness of his surroundings, almost getting hit by the car.
