Review Of Media So Far

Since starting media I've learnt a lot of things about TV drama and Flim industry, how it works, the stages that you have to do through when creating a film  or TV drama (Production, Distribution, Marketing and Distribution). Money is vital for TV dramas and film, the more money you have the greater the film will be, i learnt how crucial the budget could be when we done a comparison of a high budget film in Thor 2 and a low budget film in In Fear. Another thing I've learnt is about the pace that production companies have to work out when they have a set date to do a specific job as we have to work at a fast pace to stay on track with what we're doing, for example when we did the remake of The Breakfast Club opening. We have to give ourselves enough time to do the editing etc.

Social networking sites are key for promoting a TV series and film, I've learnt how production companies target specific social networking sites to promote it depending on the target audience for example Thor 2 would have used their own website as well as: Facebook, Twitter, Skype, YouTube, Instagram and many more as they know their intended target audience use it on a regular basis. Whereas In Fear would have used Facebook and YouTube as their budget wouldn't of stretched that far to use more websites.  

From studying media i feel that I've a lot about how the TV and Film industry works and how the media influences and contributes to how popular a film can get for example Thor 2 got 8,494,050 pages likes one Facebook on the 22nd of November 2013 and 83,675,801 views on YouTube on the same day. Without the media i feel that we wouldn't see as many films being promoted the way that they are and teenagers wouldn't be as influence to act, dress, do things in a particular way like they see their idols do in teen films.
