Review Of Media
Throughout my time in media I have gained knowledge of the film and TV industry. I have also learned the process that a movie goes through, from post production to production, distribution, marketing and then exhibition. This was introduced to us through learning about Thor and In Fear; how two different movies with different budgets come out to the public. One being a big budget Hollywood production and the other being a small production with a lower beget from an independent distribution company such as Studio Canal. We have also learned about who's involved in making a film and what they contribute. For example, we looked deep into the different roles such as directors, producers, screen-writer's, costume designers etc.
Filming and Editing
In media we filmed various things such as our own swede. I have learned how to set up the camera and use it properly as well as how to use the tripod. Furthermore, I have learned the use of different camera angles and camera shots such as close ups and long shots. In terms of editing, I have been introduced to cross-cutting, the pace of editing and various other methods of making the editing look continuous and smooth without any jump cuts, leading to the viewers getting bored.
