Throughout decades of teen films there has always been one decade that
stands out amongst others. The 80's. With films such as The Breakfast
Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Out, Sixteen Candles, The Karate Kid and The
Goonies the 80's were full of legendary teen films.
'The Breakfast Club is still a perfect embodiment of teenage angst in film and may just as well stand as a timeless classic'.
'Very iconic and memorable'.
The breakfast Club was such an iconic movie of its decade because it was refreshing at that time as the whole movie was just about one single day of detention and everything happened in this one room yet it showed a big impact to the characters. You see different people who would never normally talk to each other who all go to the same school yet know nothing of each other connect in this one room. The film reflects teenage society within and what it stands for. Status.
'Its special because of the high-energy performances of the kids who have the adventures'.
'Classic 1980s Spielberg'.
'A classic '80s action-fantasy -- teens will love!'.
The Goonies is well known classic. Known for its fun adventures and imagination. The Goonies is such an iconic film because it was one of the films within the era to show teens are more than just teenagers. They face their biggest fears and conquer their wildest dreams and imaginations. It shows teenagers in a different light to the usual stereotypical reckless teens.
(Rotten Tomatoes Reviews & Critics)
'Racy, drunken, hilarious '80s high school comedy'.
'Sweet teen classic'.
'Not only is this one of the most popular and well known of the "Brat
Pack" films, it also has the distinction of rightly being considered the Super bad of its day. That's a very fitting term, because I can
definitely see the influence it had on that film, as well as a wide
swath of popular culture overall'.
Sixteen wishes were on of the wishes associated with the 'Brat Pack'. The film is a timeless classic not just because of the actors who also stared in another classic 'The Breakfast Club' but because of the story line. Its a coming of age story. The audience get to see this young girl become an actual teen. The movie is about a young girl who's 16th birthday becomes a nightmare and she suffers from every embarrassment possible. A teens worst nightmare on their 'sweet sixteenth' however that's what makes the film special as it turns the film into a romantic comedy.
