Teen Films With Different Audiences

The following movies are "Teen Films" which those aged 15+ can relate to. Whether it be the first day at high school experience or young romantic experience that stereotypically appears in these movies.

Romance: Twilight

Twilight can appeal to both genders but generally it appeals to females. This is due to the fact that there is controversy between two attractive male characters, Jacob and Edward. These are the main characters and they're teenagers which is what makes this a teen film. Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are the type of stars that attract young female audiences.

Comedy: Mean Girls

Mean Girls is a comedic movie, which female audiences tend to relate to. This is due to the stereotypical perceptions of how teenage girls behave and due to the exaggeration it makes it comedic. Both genders can relate to it, because it's about the first day of joining high school environment and the atmosphere that comes along with it.

Action: Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is an action packed movie about how Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to compete. It could be said that many teen males were attracted to the movie due to their love for Jennifer Lawrence but they were mainly attracted to it because of the hardcore and brutal action. Within this though, there is a love story which relates back to the stereotype of teen movies involving romance of some sort which tends to attract female viewers.
